Our Learn-to-Skate & Learn-to-Play Hockey classes offers an exciting opportunity for people of all ages to discover the joy of roller hockey. Taught by experienced coaches, these classes are designed for beginners who are eager to learn the ropes of the sport. Whether you've never played hockey before or want to improve your skills, we'll teach you the basics of skating, passing, shooting, and game strategy in a welcoming and supportive environment. Youth Learn-to-Skate & Learn-to-Play Hockey Programs

 Schedule (Sundays):

• Learn-to-Skate 1: 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM

• Learn-to-Skate 2: 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM

• Learn-to-Play Hockey: 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM

• Learn-to-Skate Advanced: 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM

Program Descriptions

• Learn-to-Skate 1
  For beginners who are just learning to roller skate or first-timers.

• Learn-to-Skate 2
  For skaters who have completed Learn-to-Skate 1, have been recommended for Level 2, or already have skating experience (great for ice hockey players and kids with prior skating programs).

• Learn-to-Play Hockey
  Designed for youth players looking to learn and improve the fundamental skills needed for roller hockey. This is the next step after Learn-to-Skate. Stick handing, shooting, passing and more.

• Learn-to-Skate Advanced
  Learn to Skate Advanced is for players that may already be in leagues or are experienced roller players, good to really learn how to stop and use their edges on the roller rink!

Cost

• $120 per program

Ages

• Suitable for children ages 3 to 10.
  (Classes will be grouped by age and skill level.)

Required Equipment

• Learn-to-Skate:

  • Required: Helmet, Skates

  • Recommended: Elbow Pads, Knee Pads

• Learn-to-Play Hockey:

  • Required: Full roller hockey gear
    (Helmet, Elbow Pads, Gloves, Stick, Shin Guards, Rollerblades)

• Learn-to-Skate Advanced:

  • Required: Full roller hockey gear
    (Helmet, Elbow Pads, Gloves, Stick, Shin Guards, Rollerblades)

What Comes Next?

After completing Learn-to-Play, players will receive personalized recommendations based on their age and skill level. The next step may include joining a team in the Heatwave Arena Leagues.
